The Paediatric Foot

From their first movements to running, jumping and playing, a child's feet and lower limbs change considerably as they grow.

Children don't simply have smaller versions of adult feet. Their bones, joints, muscles, balance and walking patterns continue to develop throughout childhood.

Many changes parents notice — such as flat feet, turned-in feet or changes in leg alignment — can form part of normal development. Others may benefit from assessment, particularly when accompanied by pain, asymmetry, frequent falls, difficulty keeping up or delayed motor development.

It all starts with one question

Our Process

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    Appointment

We start by listening. Tell us about your symptoms, concerns, lifestyle and what you’d like to get back to doing comfortably.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and half circle lines.

    Assess

We examine your feet and lower limbs, looking at movement, structure and function to better understand what may be contributing to your symptoms.

    Footscan

Where appropriate, advanced pressure and gait analysis helps us see how your feet interact with the ground and identify patterns that may not be visible to the eye.
